Leidos Marine Mechanical Engineer II in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

Gibbs & Cox, a Leidos Company, has an opening for a Mid-Level Marine Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week of onsite support at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate effect of new or modified subsystems on overall system performance.

  • Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.

  • Conducting analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews

  • Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and must have an active secret clearance or be eligible to be granted one.

  • BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field of work.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components.

  • Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security clearance.

  • Experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs, DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
