Position Overview:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks an entrepreneurial, intellectually curious professional to support the Chamber’s President and CEO in her engagements with leaders across the global business community, from large-scale conferences to CEO-to-CEO conversations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior relationship management and writing skills and will have experience and expertise in partnering directly with C-Suite executives.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Chamber’s Member Relations and Communications teams, actively support the Chamber’s CEO through the development of compelling talking points and the compilation of comprehensive briefing materials.

  • Proactively connect the dots between the headlines, the corresponding impact on a given industry or company, and the Chamber’s own work; leverage these connections to drive long-term strategy for our CEO’s engagement with key stakeholders.

  • Assist in crafting and editing written correspondence, including those for our CEO and other executives; support the flow of formal written correspondence via memos and letters to and from the CEO.

  • Participate in high-level, fast-paced meetings with Chamber executives; take concise meeting notes and identify action items for key stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in communications or executive support; experience working in a legislative or executive office highly preferred.

  • Significant experience staffing senior executives and excellent presentation skills.

  • A broad-based knowledge of current events and major public policies.

  • Team player with the ability to get along with different personalities and management styles.

  • Curious, self-motivated individual who is eager to learn.

  • Strongest writing, copy-editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Strongest critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with self-ownership of work.

  • Experience using a CRM, particularly Salesforce, a plus.

  • Strongest proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, notably Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    The salary range for this position is $70,862.00 to $80,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
