Job Description: Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid Schedule)

Practice Group: Intellectual Property Litigation

Our client is a prestigious law firm renowned for its expertise in intellectual property litigation. They are dedicated to delivering exceptional legal services to their clients and are seeking a talented Litigation Legal Assistant to support their IP Litigation Practice Group.

Position Overview:

The Litigation Legal Assistant will provide vital support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient management of intellectual property litigation cases. This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for two days of remote work per week. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials.

  • Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.

  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.

  • Scheduling: Coordinate and manage calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, and court appearances.

  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining case files.

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure efficient case management.

• Utilize case management software, Microsoft Office Suites, and legal research tools such as LexisNexis to enhance efficiency

• Support billing functions

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years as a legal assistant, preferably in litigation or intellectual property.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
