Edison Electric Institute Finance Internship (Investor Relations and ESG) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Overview

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is seeking a talented and committed intern to join the Energy Supply and Finance team this summer. This role provides the opportunity to work with colleagues to assist with meeting and conference planning/preparation for members of the financial community. The dates of this internship are April through August and requires a commitment of 20-35 hours per week. Start and end dates are negotiable.

EEI is the trade association for all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.

This is a paid internship.

  • College Students: $20 per hour

  • Graduate Students: $25 per hour

The Finance team is responsible for representing investor-owned electric companies in matters related to industry finance. They promote sound business practices and regulatory policies while also working towards ensuring the financial well-being of U.S. investor-owned electric companies, their investors, and the interests of electric company customers.

This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in business administration, finance, marketing, political science, or research. A specific major is not required for this internship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meeting coordination for a committee of energy company finance executives.

  • Assist with preparation for a multi-day conference that draws energy company CEO and CFOs, government officials, and investment community.

  • Maintain contact information for committee members.

  • Support the team with administrative duties (Committee engagement, policy research and tracking, and development of meeting martials)

  • Complete assigned research projects.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in, or having recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate program with an interest in meeting planning and/or finance.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple work streams, ability to complete tasks on time, self-motivation.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

  • Ability and desire to learn.

Preferences

  • Prior experience working in an office environment.

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area for the duration of the internship and come into the office a minimum of three days each week.
