Department Of Energy Facilities Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy (DOE). As a Facilities Project Manager, you will be be interpreting DOE-wide policies and developing, formulating and implementing for Headquarters policies, standards and procedures relating to space management and interior design activities. Responsibilities As a Facilities Project Manager, you will: Analyze, plan, direct, organize and coordinate comprehensive management programs for the alteration, repair, office services and improvement of government-owned facilities Prepare a variety of reports relative to building management operations and alterations, fund expenditures, Working Capital Fund billing, and general facilities services. Provide professional advice and counsel to the team staff in connection with office services, alterations and repair, and renovations to the physical facilities to accommodate increased or changing facility usage patterns. Analyze requests for all types of space alterations such as the installation or removal of partitions, electric and telephone receptacles, telecommunications, LAN and security systems, etc., and other requested changes as may be appropriate. Evaluate, analyze, plan, and coordinate with the General Services Administration the comprehensive management programs for the alteration, repair, office services and improvement of Department of Energy leased facilities in the Washington, D.C., area. Perform contract administration and Contract Officer Representative responsibilities relating to facilities improvements and alterations and the term contract agreements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Assisting in planning and coordinating the management programs on the construction, alteration, repair, office services and improvement of leased facilities. Advising customers on office services for constructions, repairs, and renovations to physical facilities. Managing construction or space management contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications and requirements. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
