Hyatt Engineering Supervisor in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia

As a mechanically focused Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible to maintain and upkeep the entire hotel and all equipment. You will help to ensure the entire hotel is provided with water, heat, lighting, and power while ensuring that the hotel building is safe and efficiently maintained. You will meet guest expectations through the implementation of the mechanical plants and HVAC equipment maintenance program. Our Engineering team is always focused on serving our guests and coworkers. To be successful in this role you must have a positive and caring attitude, and a strong desire to learn and grow. This person will typically work Tuesday-Saturday some time between the hours of 7:00am - 4:00pm, although full flexibility is needed to cover shifts or support projects.

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards, and other tasks as assigned:

  • Maintain the HVAC/Exhaust systems

  • Oversee general repairs, fabrication, installation, operation, and preventative maintenance with regards to mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry, plumbing, sewage plants, etc.

  • Read logbooks and follow up as required

  • Update logbooks and communicate important information

  • Ensure all work is carried out on schedule and in full compliance with local safety rules and regulations

  • Perform general routine inspection of the team's preventative maintenance tasks to ensure they remain on schedule

  • Distribute spare parts, equipment, and supplied to Engineering Technicians

  • Update bin cards and re-order parts

  • Complete summary form for all issued inventory items on a daily basis

  • Perform any special duties assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering

  • Allocate daily assignments to the team

Our good faith belief at the time of this posting is that the hourly pay rate for this position will be between $33.02 - $44.00 per hour commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blue prints and schematics required

  • Minimum of 5-years of building maintenance experience strongly preferred with hotel experience preferred

  • A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems

  • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
