This Data Scientist position is located in the Office of Enforcement. For more information visit: OE Responsibilities The Division of Analytics and Surveillance (DAS) in the FERC Office of Enforcement (OE) is seeking a motivated and skilled data engineer/data scientist to fill a role in our Data and Technology Branch. Leverage your skills in SQL, Python, R, and other programming languages to help your team build a data warehouse that drives DAS' wholesale electricity and natural gas surveillance dashboards and analyses, as well as Commission-wide policy decisions. As a Data Scientist some of your typical work assignments may include: Developing and maintaining data pipelines using SQL/T-SQL, Python, R, Databricks, or Synapse to maintain a data warehouse, and other data products. Using Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc to analyze data and implement quality control checks. Assist other analysts use these analytics platforms on occasion. Using GitHub and Microsoft DevOps to version control your code and to collaborate with your teammates. Clearly presenting findings, approaches, and processes to the team, the Division, or management orally and/or in writing. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience developing processes using Python or SQL. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
