Jacobs Construction Quality Assurance Auditor in Washington, District Of Columbia

Jacobs is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Auditor to join our Team in Baltimore, Maryland. This position supports the development, management and/or implementation of the Quality Management Plan (QMP) that applies to assigned projects. The incumbent will review designs, plans, requirements, and specifications, and provide and support construction quality inspections. When you join us in this role, you’ll provide analysis, updates and reports, and you’ll interact closely with internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd party construction contractors, suppliers, and the public. The final candidate will be asked to report to our office in either Baltimore, Maryland or Washington, District of Columbia 2 days a week.

Our Construction Quality Assurance Auditor will work closely with the Client's construction QAM, project manager, stakeholders, and personnel on a consistent basis. This position requires flexibility for construction site visits, in person meetings, and visits to supplier / vendor sites.

As a key member of the team, you’ll be responsible for the following:

• Provide support to the client to monitor construction progress, develop reports, manage project communications, and manage meetings in accordance with work plans and schedules

• Document pre-existing condition and post-construction conditions and develop reports and presentations

• Conduct quality assurance inspections of documentation and in the field related to assigned construction projects to ensure that inspectors are delivering the highest degree of quality service and compliance with owner requirements, standards, and specifications

• Demonstrate an emphasis on safety of the inspection staff, contractor and public in all interactions on a project

• Provide training to inspectors in inspection procedures and documentation techniques

• Provide guidance to inspection staff with solving complex problems

• Maintain positive client relationships

• Conduct quality assurance checks of project paperwork and assist with quality audits

• Assist with the development of the Quality Management Plan (QMP)

• Maintain records of all quality assurance project reviews and provide feedback to the QAM on issues for resolution, inspection staff and/or client concerns

• Occasional overnight travel or work at night may be required to provide the necessary interaction with assigned project staff

• Minimum of ten (10) years of technical program management, project management, construction management, or related engineering experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent education

• Previous professional experience in the rail and transit industry environment

• A proven track record of safe, timely, and successful completion of projects

• Strong organization and recordkeeping skills

• Ability to travel as needed and navigate an active construction site

• Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record

• Ability to work independently

• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Inspection experience including transit, HVAC, MEP, and vertical construction methods

• MDOT Material and DEQ Certifications (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control, Erosion & Sedimentation, Storm water, etc.) or equivalent certifications

Other required competencies:

• Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft O365

• Total Quality Management: Proficiency in developing, managing and implementing Construction Quality Management Plans

• Leadership / Collaboration: Ability to lead audit teams and coordinate efforts.

• Stakeholder Communication: Effective verbal and written communication to collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Project Reporting: Ability to write clear audit reports and communicate findings. Data analysis skills to assess project performance and identify trends.

• Construction / Engineering: Understanding and interpreting construction schedules; familiarity with materials, standards, and specifications related to rail / transit construction projects and facilities management; Upholding professional ethics and integrity; Effective application of industry standards, laws & regulations, and project requirements

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Professional Engineer (PE)

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

• Certified Quality Manager (CQM)

• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

• Experience with Procore & eBuilder or similar SAS platforms
