    Northramp is looking for driven, creative individuals interested in helping grow something truly unique in our markets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Business Intelligence developer that possesses advanced knowledge using BigQuery within Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will be working in a GCP environment bringing strong experience working with BigQuery and large datasets, and supporting and developing BigQuery data modeling and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will be designing data models, data transformations, ingestion from external data sources, and creating performance capabilities for dashboarding and reporting needs on the program. The ideal candidate will also be expanding existing reporting and analytics functionality and performance. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced innovative environment, possess foundational knowledge of Agile-based project teams, have excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a proven ability to work independently. It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communication skills and have a wide depth of knowledge and hands on experience with various technologies, and environments.

    We are currently looking for a BigQuery Specialist who will:

  • Design and maintain new data models within BigQuery.

  • Collaborate with data team to migrate existing transformations, data warehouse, and reporting from legacy tools to BigQuery, and Looker.

  • Leverage GitHub and pipelines to promote and deploy artifacts.

  • Work with report developers and data scientists to support team needs for BigQuery and Looker product development.

  • Document technical improvements, and structures.

  • Leverage UI/UX designs and incorporate them into development efforts.

  • Work closely with a team of systems, data, and analytics-oriented individuals.

  • Work with data, development, and systems architects.

  • Review vulnerability scans and remediate vulnerabilities in addition to participating in periodic security audits.

  • Coordinate with multiple teams to continually improve the delivery of products to customers.

  • Maintain and drive the modernization of legacy applications, tools, and systems.

  • Design, implement, and ensure quality and security controls are met.

  • Prioritize work based on customer priorities and complete tickets in a timely manner.

    Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Work closely with teammates and clients to deliver high-quality, code driven solutions

  • Identify and resolve bugs and inefficiencies in current solutions

  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time

  • Adhere to Agile development methodology, and have the ability to demonstrate and apply scaled Agile framework (SAFe) fundamentals and best practices

  • Possess experience with the following technologies:

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud provider

  • RHEL and Windows operating systems

  • Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB

  • Java and Angular applications

  • Data Visualization tools (i.e. Looker, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Google Data Studio)

    • Provide feedback to teammates on data architecture and solution requirements and code reviews

    Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship and ability to pass a Public Trust background check.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field

  • 5+ Years of experience within the Google BigQuery (primary) or equivalent (Snowflake, DataBricks) environments.

  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve large data issues in a complex data environment.

  • Experience with Linux (RHEL preferred).

  • Debugging experience (code, script, database).

  • Team player that fully embraces innovative thinking, eliminating barriers, and DevOps culture.

  • Hands on experience with BigQuery and Looker BI Tools

  • Ability to work independently and to be a self-starter and able to operate in a proactive way

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; team player that embraces how to eliminate barriers; logical thinker and intellectual curiosity

    Desired Qualifications

  • PostgreSQL or equivalent (MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle) on Linux (preferred).

  • T-SQL query optimization (analyzing explain plans, index management).

  • Hands on experience with BigQuery deployment environments.

  • Experience with Cloud Storage.

  • GCP Certification.

  • Experience in supporting and maintaining Looker environments.

  • Test data generation and database benchmarking experience.

  • Large scale data experience.

  • NoSQL Database management (Mongo DB) experience .

  • Experience with containerization (Docker)

  • Nexus - Artifact Repository experience.

  • VMware or VirtualBox experience.

  • Bitbucket (Git) experience.

  • Experience in working with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).

  • Understanding of security scanning/vulnerability remediation (Nessus, Retina, etc.)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Government or large organization experience with working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and other Agile work management tools.

    Clearance
