Nexstar Media Group Associate Producer in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, is seeking an associate producer to grow our short and long form video ecosystem on TheHill.com and YouTube.

Role:

  • Support line producers with writing engaging copy for digital news products that live on TheHill.com and YouTube.

  • Create lower thirds for videos and run teleprompter.

  • Contributes to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.

  • Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all digital devices.

  • Research subject matter for news products.

  • Book guests as needed.

    Requirements & Skills:

  • At least 2 years working in a newsroom or creating content for YouTube.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Excellent verbal, written, grammatical and analytical skills.

  • Ability to develop strong news judgment.

  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

  • Ability to meet quality standards.

This is an in-office, 5 day a week position based in Washington, D.C.
