The Georgetown Law Office of Executive and Continuing Legal Education (https://www.law.georgetown.edu/academics/continuing-legal-education/) (OECLE) brings together Georgetown’s world-renowned faculty, today’s top business minds, and Washington DC’s most influential leaders to create transformative professional education for lawyers and legal adjacent careers. Focused on delivering both customizable and modular curricular content, OECLE is an innovative hub for those looking to create lasting impact on the legal field from the inside out.

The Assistant Director plays a key role in the planning and execution of OECLE’s programming, including relationship building with external stakeholders, marketing and sponsorship, vendors and technology, contracting, event staffing, catering, and A/V. The incumbent constantly works with OECLE partners and is involved in nearly all aspects of a program lifecycle, from discovery to execution. The Assistant Director will also regularly coordinate or interact with internal and external personnel, including other staff and faculty at Georgetown, potential and existing executive education clients, program attendees and speakers, sponsors, and vendors. Reporting to the Director of Program Management, additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Program Planning and Execution

  • Work with internal and external personnel to secure venue space, coordinating with program sponsors and helping with other business development, marketing, and sponsorship activities.

  • Coordinate with clients, speakers, Georgetown faculty and staff, and other internal and external stakeholders to launch programming.

  • Develop and maintain various aspects of the Georgetown Law website and internal technologies, as well as any program-specific websites. platforms, or technologies.

  • Assist attendees, faculty, sponsors, and other participants with registration and other logistical issues.

  • Manage program staffing & catering, A/V, venue, accessibility, and other logistics, creating event staffing timelines and assignments.

  • Support the post-program analysis process as needed.

Accreditation, Engagement, and Outreach

  • Answer OECLE main phone line and email accounts, and screens calls, providing insight on general questions and inquiries.

  • Oversee OECLE social media and online presence.

  • Facilitate accreditation of programming as necessary.

  • Work with outside vendors as well as internal and external personnel to help facilitate receipt of credit by attendees.

  • Maintain currency in accreditation rules.

  • Advise team on accreditation issues and continually evaluates and updates processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Dedicated team player, flexible and creative, with the ability to work with a variety of personalities and constituencies to deliver excellent programs at scale

  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritize effectively as well as situations professionally and with sound judgment

  • Ability to multi-task and maintain focus, particularly in the provision of customer service while tracking program deliverables for multiple entities and programs simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently and as collaborative part of a team

  • Comfort with technology and growth mindset with d emonstrated experience executing large-scale events

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years in a professional setting

  • Interest in instructional design, program management, large-scale event planning, and/or higher education

  • Experience with Cvent or other event/learning management systems

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
