Microsoft's Federal Sales Excellence and Operations (SE&O) Team is looking for a Principle Pursuit Lead.

Responsibilities

Playing a key role in aligning pursuits with domain offering strategy. As a Principle Pursuit Lead (PL), you will be expected to demonstrate experience in offerings and delivery playbooks, and to use this experience to educate selling partners and lead pursuits that result in deals with an appropriate resource mix.

  • The PL is a key participant in driving the sales growth of solution areas within the Federal Services organization through the seamless and quality integration of services domain strategies and services Area Aligned sales strategies. This includes close collaboration with the Account Directors, Domain Solution Architect (DSA), Delivery Management Managers (DMM), Account Delivery Executive (ADE)/Program Managers, Program Managers, Project Managers, Customer Success Account Manager (CSAM) and at times, the Product Groups.

  • Building trusted relationships with stakeholders that are critical to the success of deal pursuits. PLs are expected to drive profitable use of pre-sales resources and develop relationships with area sales, proactively engage stakeholders to influence deal qualifications, advise on deal readiness, and set domain pursuit expectations.

  • Being accountable for deal quality. This includes the production of well-crafted Statements of Work (SOW’s) that lead to profitable engagements that meet customers’ expectations for scope, timelines, and deliverables, and include the reuse of IP as a deal shaping foundation.

  • Achieving high quality pursuits by leading pursuit teams through technical, political, and organizational complexity. PLs are expected to be stewards of the lead-to-order process, use your influence to improve deal velocity, prioritize pursuits aligned to area business plans, and communicate deal value to approval stakeholders through the deal review process.   • Confident at building relationships, working and communicating with internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational roles of a delivery organization, able to match this to best meet customer needs and drive customer outcomes

  • Experience evaluating work breakdown structures, cost estimations and resource loading

  • Able to develop productive relationships with colleagues and management to meet targeted objectives

  • Analytical mind set with the ability define metrics, reports, interpret results, and make recommendations on appropriate courses of action Customer and Solution Focus Innovative with a Drive for Results Ability to create clarity and clearly communicate

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years enterprise technology sales, consulting, delivery management experience, or relevant experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Technology or related field AND 6+ years enterprise technology sales, consulting, delivery management experience, or relevant experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business, Management, Technology or related field AND 4+ years enterprise technology sales, consulting, delivery management experience, or relevant experience.

Other Requirements

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Engineering or master's degree preferred

  • Experience in an enterprise delivery or support environment with demonstrated successful delivery of complex projects and programs

Pursuit Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,700 - $209,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $151,100 - $226,700 per year.
