Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the highway department necessary to the repair and maintenance of streets, walkways, abutments and medians. ? Laying and maintaining drainage lines. ? Collecting and disposing of refuse and debris. ? Assists in constructing, repairing and maintaining all highway operations. ? Responsible for heavy yard and leave pick-up. ? May be assigned to perform other Senior Laborer duties in other divisions of the Public Works Department; performs related work as required. Education and Experience: Such as may have been gained through completion of eight school grades, supplemented with at least six months of previous work experience as a laborer or any equivalent combination of education and experience. SPECIAL NOTE: Must possess a valid state issued Drivers License at time of application. All applicants will be subject to a drivers license check for last two years and a background criminal check will be performed. Negative findings may prevent applicants from being considered.
