Configuration Specialist

In our IT Service Management team, we are looking for an experienced Configuration Specialist with good knowledge of a modern infrastructure landscape and preferably skilled in our ITSM tool ServiceNow.

In your role as Configuration Specialist, you will need to establish close contact to IT operations and DEV team to secure that the CMDB represents our landscape and is updated. You must be able to understand and map the IT landscape into the CMDB using your analytical skills.

We are currently in the process of looking into expanding our capabilities with a network and service mapping tool to support CIS18 controls 1,2,4 and 17 for the CMDB and part of your role will be to secure a successful implementation enabling GN to gain the added value and overview.

When you enter the IT Service Management team, we are six colleagues welcoming you as part of a team, that makes things happen across all of GN. Besides employing you in your role, the team will expand even further in the coming months.

The IT Service Management team is responsible for the cross functional IT Service Management practices. We also work in and agile setup where ITIL processes and Agile ways of working coexists and complement each other.

We use ServiceNow as our ITSM platform so good working knowledge of ServiceNow is an advantage.

1½ year ago we finalized a strategic initiative of returning to an out-of-the-box ServiceNow solution which we know aim to keep as close to out of the box as possible.

Your responsibilities

As our new colleague you will among other tasks have responsibility for the following:

• Fulfill Configuration Management Service Requests

• Mentor the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies and procedures

• Oversee the design, coding and testing of reports and report on metrics as required

• Identify and report non-compliance situations

• Perform Configuration Management audits as directed

• Identify Service Improvement opportunities

• Help Application Managers with Configuration Management tasks

Candidate profile

To be successful in the role, we prefer you have the following skills and experiences:

• Technically skilled with a good understanding of IT Infrastructure

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Problem-solving skills

• Adaptability and flexibility

• Attention to detail

• Previous working experience working with ITIL processes and Infrastructure knowledge

• Relevant ITIL certifications as a minimum ITIL 4 foundation is preferable

• Fluent written and spoken English skills

• Have and open mindset and thrive in and organization where things change
