Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Transportation Analyst will develop an in depth understanding of the business to innovate significant data driven insights to help business leaders make better decisions and will develop and combine subject matter expertise in key data domains. In this role, you will act as a partner with internal stakeholders and technical staff to execute a business technology strategy that delivers reporting and analytics solutions

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and analyze business needs, gather requirements and define the scope and objectives to drive business decisions.

  • Prepare data and explore new potential data to support reporting and analysis initiatives.

  • Prepare reports and analyses to identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.

  • Lead analysis in collaboration with process and operations leadership to identify the top opportunities for improvement and track progress and impact on future results.

  • Mentor and coach peers and recommend process improvements related to delivery and new methodologies.

  • Partner with the team to develop a detailed understanding of the business and offer mentorship or technical solutions to identify business problems.

  • Act as an intermediary between business and IT to gather and analyze relevant data

  • You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum four years of related work experience

  • Strong knowledge of SQL (any dialect), Python(for data analysis, tasks automation, web scraping etc.), DAX and Power BI

  • English skills on B2 level - both written and spoken

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification / previous experience in other programming languages and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlick, Microstrategy, etc.)

  • Confirmed skills querying relational databases with query language

  • Confirmed experience working with large data stores, complex relational databases, relational and tabular data models

  • Preferred 6 years of related work experience with previous experience in transportation or supply chain analysis

  • Experience in working hybrid (remote & office) within an international environment

  • Experience in running independently data driven improvement projects

  • Previous experience with SAP (SD, TM) and Microsoft Dynamics databases reporting

  • Ability to create clear and visually attractive visualizations using Power Bi or other BI tools

  • Previous experience with Hadoop environment (Impala, Hive, Oozie, PySpark, Hue etc.)

  • Previous experience with six sigma and statistical process control analytical methods
