Parker Lane Purchasing Manager - Team Lead in Warsaw, Poland

Parker Lane Group leads the category in managed resale and re-commerce services. Our Resale as a Service (RaaS) solution and in-house end-to-end supply chain combine to deliver the highest resale values in the market for managed resale services.

Founded in 2010, PLG was one of the first companies worldwide to provide a full-stack re-commerce solution to returns and excess inventory management. PLG is present in over 60 markets worldwide and recently expanded into B2C and D2C services with the launch of its marketplace - www.rlvd.com (http://www.rlvd.com/).

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager - Team Lead to engage and build relationships with retailers in the market to confidently convert into clients to work in partnership with PLG. You will play a key role in driving forward the success of PLG using your experience in analysing the market for the right retailers and buying price. This role will work closely with our team in Warsaw.

An individual who is a strong communicator and presenter, with an ability to think on their feet in all situations with an ambitious and forward thinking mind-set would suit this role.

There are four key business focuses in this role: Team Management, Business Development, Buying (off-price) and Account Management.

Your responsibilities will include:

Team Management

  • Leading the relationship between Business Development & the Sales team in Warsaw

  • Managing Team of 4 representatives (one located in UK)

  • Acting as the team point of contact for queries

  • Coaching and developing the BD team on engagement, analysis and market mapping

  • Ensuring Salesforce is continually updated with all team activity

  • Reporting back to the Senior Leadership on your teams pipeline and progress

Business Development

  • Being in charge of your own pipeline of targeted retailers and brands specific focus on large turnover clients

  • Leading on contract negotiations to ensure the best buying price

  • Be the driver on BD initiatives to drive inbound queries to the team

  • Working alongside Marketing on collateral to help support the team in engaging new clients

Off-Price Buying

  • Analyse large sets of data & evaluate opportunities based on your market and trend knowledge, as well as proprietary sales and performance information

  • Writing client proposals and negotiate best contract terms

  • Reviewing strategies for off-price buying and how we can improve efficiencies

Account Management

  • Reviewing how we can manage and enhance the P&L of each client

  • Strengthen relationships with key contacts; arranging and coordinating regular business reviews and strategy meetings

  • Work alongside the Sales/Marketing team to develop strategies and negotiate with your accounts to identify new sales opportunities

What we are looking for?

  • 5+ years in client facing roles (Sales, Business Development or Consulting)

  • Proficient in Polish language (business and social)

  • A knowledge of retail, fashion, wholesale, eCommerce

  • Demonstrated sales success

  • Strong skills in Excel – this is essential

  • Adaptable and forward thinking, combined with an analytical approach to problem solving and acute commercial awareness

  • Highly organised and structured in your approach to work and detail driven

  • A strong work ethic

  • Ability to travel (approx. 30% of working time) – locally and internationally (must have a valid UK or EU passport)
