Energy Engineer/Data Scientist

About the Role:

As a CBRE Energy Engineer/Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analysing efficiency of campus performance. You will work as a part of a team to facilitate data management and suggest energy efficiency initiatives for a life science client. You will be supported in the region by the Energy&Sustainability team within the CBRE.

This job is part of the Energy & Sustainability Team:

You will be a part of a 60+ strong team located throughout Europe, consisting of experts, client relationship leaders, energy managers & analysts, who carry out work for occupiers, landlords & investors.

Our strategic focus: We generate operational savings in energy, water, waste and carbon emissions, which mitigates risks & enhances external creditability as well as maximises profitability and staff well-being.

You will be a part of our analytics hub located in Warsaw, which is the foundation of wider team located throughout Europe.

You will closely work with a team in UK in order to provide the highest quality services to our client & contribute to shaping our business plan.

What You’ll Do:

  • Handle efficiently high frequency energy data.

  • Analyse data for a specific system within a building to highlight inefficient performance.

  • Compare performance against industry benchmarks.

  • Work with stakeholders to establish explanations in data variations.

  • Verify savings in energy, water, waste & CO2 to forecast the status of client KPIs & articulate the creditability of our work.

  • Forecast the status of client’s Sustainability Goals via reporting.

  • Build generic models to predict performance of a building depending on changing conditions.

  • Work as a part of an international team, where your Team Leader maybe located elsewhere.

  • Suggest optimal solutions to deliver the objectives.

  • Work with the wider Energy and Sustainability Team to complete projects to strict deadlines providing efficient, timely and reliable data updates.

  • Your work will contribute to the overall energy & sustainability strategy

What You’ll Need:

  • Fluent English in speaking and writing is a must.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in one of the natural sciences (Engineering, Computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Law, Business or other).

  • Experience with energy data manipulation, analysis and reporting

  • Use of programming languages is a must (emphasis on R, but Python or others are welcome).

  • Use of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI or others) is a benefit.

  • Knowledge of building systems (air conditioning, ventilation, electricity and water services, etc) is a benefit

  • Theoretical or practical knowledge of dynamical models in time-domain and with state-space techniques (in any engineering area) is a benefit

  • High analytical skills, focused on details, fast learning.

  • Experience in communicating with stakeholders to gather information.

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain required information within strict deadlines.

  • Client oriented, capable to adapt to changing and demanding environment.

  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines while managing conflicting priorities.

  • Responsible and mature attitude.

  • Ability to travel sporadically to client site (UK).
