This is a PSE (Product Support Engineer) role within CFM56 Life Cycle Engineering team. The PSE engineer is a primary engineering interface between design/product organizations and the customers. In this role you will be responsible for CFM56 rotor hardware. This position covers all activities relating to enhancing services technology integrating customer data, or capturing engines/products reliability, availability, maintenance, safety and other performance parameters. Includes hourly, nonexempt and exempt employees as well as manager roles responsible solely for these activities. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

  • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration. Maintenance of fleet data, outage management.

  • Customer support activities including AOG support.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Fleet Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field (aeronautical, mechanical, automotive)

  • Experience in fleet support including resolving field issues related to supported products.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple field projects simultaneously across functions.

  • Experience leading presentations of field issues to senior leadership and external customers.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

  • Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience in aerospace industry, MROs, airlines or military aviation.
