What You Can Expect

Oversee the supply chain process in warehouse centers, communicate with customers and suppliers, lead team members, and ensure that safety regulations are met. Work shifts which can include early starts, late finishes, and weekends. Aid and assist manager in establishing and maintaining a productive and efficient departmental operation through leadership functions. Must be able to perform some of the required duties during manager’s absence. No disciplinary authority.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Provide Leadership and direction to team members in assigned areas.

  • Communicate between shifts on issues related to operational needs.

  • Assist manager in monitoring and communicating Environmental, Health, & Safety requirements to area team members.

  • Prepare and process all paperwork relating to the shipping of orders for customers as well as processing invoices for each delivery.

  • Organize and maintain inventory and stock control.

  • Ensure that the storage areas and warehouse are kept clean, including identifying areas where processes could be improved and work practices amended.

  • Identify personnel related issues in department, including conflicts and incidents of misconduct and communicate with manager to address matter.

  • Monitor lean product flows and the reallocation of resources as needed to ensure required service rates are achieved.

  • Assist with training team members, monitor performance of staff and raise any issues or further training requirements to Supervisor.

  • Track the performance of the warehouse overall to ensure that it is running smoothly.

  • Perform periodic quality system/compliance checks on operations being performed by team members in all assigned areas.

  • Maintain department records as required.

  • Monitor shipments and deliveries, which are maintained via items record and documents.

  • Utilize reports to maintain knowledge of the warehouse project statuses.

  • Must attain and maintain self-work schedule and determine priorities.

  • Train and lead team members to operate and maintain equipment to meet production, GMP, and safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot and solve daily shipping and receiving discrepancies and errors.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of SAP.

  • Demonstrate ability to accurately document information on all router documents per applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Zimmer Biomet Work Instructions.

  • Strong verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of team members including production team members, management, and technical professionals.

  • Understanding of lean concepts and methodologies.

  • Proven Leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to be a role model for desired Zimmer Biomet behaviors.

  • Change agent with the drive to learn new concepts and processes and assist with implementing those changes.

  • Safely operate material handling equipment.

  • Ability to lead and train people.

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions from Manager.

  • Must be able to meet all technical and physical requirements of primary job function.

Your Background

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Minimum 5 years of recent work experience in distribution/warehouse or manufacturing setting

  • Proficient with SAP
