VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Dentistry in Warrensville Heights, Ohio

VCA Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Dental Technician to join our 24-hour specialty and emergency practice in Cleveland, Ohio.

Come join us as we provide high quality medical care in our 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. Our hospital has fifteen exam rooms, three surgical suites, dental suite, feline only ward, isolation wards, onsite CT and cone-beam CT, multiple O2 cages, incubators & ultrasounds, ventilators, two digital x-ray units, advanced monitoring equipment, and more. A beautiful building with excellent equipment means nothing without the accompanying staff. We currently employ Specialists in Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Emergency and Critical Care, as well as a team of experienced and passionate Emergency Doctors. We also employ many technicians and assistants that love what they do and do it well.

VCA Great Lakes is located in Warrensville Heights, which is a suburb of Cleveland. Called “The Land” by locals, Clevelanders describe themselves as a city of underdogs, innovators, creative weirdos and pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps types. Summary of Job Description and Function:

  • Fear-free physical restraint

  • Venipuncture

  • Catheter placement

  • Radiology

  • Anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery

  • Physical examinations and patient assessment

  • Surgical preparation and assisting

  • Laboratory work

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients

  • Assist with dental exams, physical exams, sample collection

  • Perform dental radiographs, charting, ultrasonic scaling, nerve blocks

  • Communicate with clients for: creating estimates, scheduling, and patient follow up

  • Assist in patient procedures: preparation of patients, dental prophylaxis, instrument and equipment management

  • Assist in patient discharges, filling prescriptions

  • Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services

  • Ensure all medical records and documentation are accurate and complete

  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • RVT required

  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary, including holidays and some weekend coverage.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
