Robert Half Plant Controller in Warren, Ohio

Description We are searching for a Plant Controller to join our team in the metal fabrication industry based in Warren, Ohio. As a Plant Controller, your primary duty will be to oversee our financial processes, including managing monthly closing activities, analyzing overhead costs and manufacturing costs, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly financial closing process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled accurately.

• Conduct thorough analysis of overhead, cost of sales, and actual manufacturing costs in comparison to budget, forecast, and prior periods. Prepare reports on these comparisons to provide insights into the profitability of products.

• Oversee the accounting for plant fixed assets and repairs, including the preparation or review of capital expenditure requests.

• Ensure production processes that impact financial information are performed accurately and efficiently.

• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, assets, processes, and data, adhering to all company policies and work procedures.

• Proactively identify manufacturing cost trends that could impact business and financial results. Collaborate with Plant Managers to produce accurate and timely manufacturing and financial analysis.

• Utilize skills in Epicor, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Budget Processes, Annual Standard Cost, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Fixed Asset Accounting to perform other duties as required. Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role within the Metal Fabrication industry

• Proficiency in Epicor or similar ERP systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to oversee and manage Budget Processes

• Experience in handling Annual Standard Cost procedures and adjustments

• Understanding of Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Cost Accounting principles

• Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
