Element Materials Technology Test Technician in Warren, Michigan

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Warren, MI. The primary function of the Materials Test Technician is conducting evaluations and testing (setup, measure, and document results) on a wide variety of products while interfacing with a wide array of engineers and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of internal and client requirements

  • Operating mechanical testing equipment

  • Maintaining accurate and systematic records

  • Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory

  • Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system

  • Report writing, data interpretation and analysis

Skills / Qualifications

  • Previous course experience in science/chemistry/physics/ a plus

  • Previous material property testing a plus

  • Hands-on job

  • Sound mechanical bias

  • Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage

  • Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous

  • An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial

  • Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organize and work under the pressure of a busy commercial materials test laboratory

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A team player attitude

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
