Job Posting: Tool Stores Supervisor

Payrate: $30.34

Location: Warren MI (ONSITE)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tool Stores Supervisor to manage the inventory of Non-Production Materials (NPM) and ensure efficient operation of the tool stores. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spare parts management, inventory control, and world-class manufacturing (WCM).

Specific responsibilities include:

Monitoring NPM inventory daily, weekly, monthly, and annually to identify opportunities for reducing float, increasing turns, disposing of inactive materials, and addressing potential high theft/scrap/loss material conditions.

Collaborating with Maintenance and the Controllers Office to properly dispose of excess and obsolete material.

Identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies (such as negative balances) and implementing corrective actions.

Processing inter-plant transfers and shipments as required.

Reviewing open order reports and receiving/dispositioning inventoried material.

Confirming receipt of invoices.

Logging non-conformances from material receipts and pursuing resolutions with suppliers.

Interfacing with third-party providers regarding internal or external inventory requests or issues.

Reviewing tool store requests (TSRs) and repetitive buys to ensure validity based on prior usage/activity and canceling unnecessary orders.

Supporting WCM activities through daily housekeeping reviews, 5-S checks, and initiating and implementing Kaizens. Participating in WCM Pillar committees as required.

Assisting in training plant personnel on how to create RFMs and TSRs.

Supporting Order Processing & Control (OPC) with ordering and follow-up issues.

Assisting in all cycle count activities to support monthly audit requirements, working with counters and service provider employees to identify and correct count variances.

Providing NPIC system access as required.

Materials managed include: repair tools, machine parts, safety items, drills, diamond tip tooling, batteries, etc.

Hours and Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday, 7am - 3:30pm (occasional Sundays or holidays if the plant is running and it's your turn to cover). Some overtime is required.

Requirements:

Completed Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Previous Warehouse Supervisory experience (minimum 2 years) (Required)

Manufacturing experience (minimum 2 years) (Required)

Union Environment experience (Preferred)
