W. Atlee Burpee Company Senior Logistics Specialist in Warminster, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the oversight of the organizations shipping and receiving processes. The position coordinates cross-functionally to promote accurate and timely processing of customer shipments. The position develops and maintains reports showing transportation movements and costs.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely processing of customer shipments

  • M anage and monitor the flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers across multiple channels

  • Manage and monitor the scheduling and routing of external vendor shipments

  • Partner with 3PLs to ensure on-time and in-full deliveries

  • Manage seasonal planning of truck plans, including forecasting truck and storage needs

  • Maintain and develop pallet build schemes to prioritize efficient trailer and space utilization

  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager on daily execution of processing orders for shipments

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and other service providers

  • Manage the process of compliance chargebacks and appeals with customers

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers

  • Maintain logistics policies, procedures and support plans

  • Manage and monitor the supply chain metrics, such as on-time delivery and cost savings

  • Work with loading and warehouse personnel to ensure shipments and cost targets are met

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • F ive years of management experience in logistics coordination

  • Bachelor's degree in business discipline or logistics.

  • Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven proficiency in a w arehouse environment

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Worked in seasonal capacity

  • Computer skills - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (advanced), etc. (Microsoft D365 is a plus)

  • Prioritization and planning skills

  • Great problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Self-motivated
