Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Waltham, Massachusetts

Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the high-tech pharmaceutical/biotech industry. The position is based in Waltham, Massachusetts and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The role will involve managing accounts receivable, using various accounting software systems, and liaising with customers regarding billing and payment queries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts receivable duties, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Use accounting software systems such as Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, and Microsoft Excel to manage accounts and financial data.

• Effectively handle cash activities and check processing tasks.

• Communicate professionally with customers via calls and emails to resolve any accounts receivable or billing issues.

• Maintain and update customer credit records and accounts as necessary.

• Utilize Microsoft Office Suites for administrative tasks related to accounts receivable and billing functions.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure all accounting functions are performed accurately and according to industry standards.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.

• Leverage your skills in Accounts Receivable (AR) to improve processes and ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suites

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Billing Functions

• Experience in handling Cash Activity

• Familiarity with Check Processing

• Previous experience in a similar role in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry would be advantageous

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
