Hackensack Meridian Health Prenatal OB Coordinator, Licensed Practical Nurse - Physician Practice in Wall, New Jersey

The Prenatal Coordinator, LPN navigates OB patients throughout the pregnancy lifecycle including care education; coordinating routine and diagnostic testing, results interpretation, and procedure scheduling under the supervision of the physician(s) and practice manager. Serves as a liaison between the patients and provider. Performs other clerical duties as requested.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Prenatal Coordinator, LPN at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Meets with all prenatal patients to educate them on all testing including bloodwork and ultrasound.

  • Provides the patient with information to scheduled Maternal Fetal Medicine consultations.

  • Assists providers during obstetrical visits

  • Ensures initial prenatal blood work is completed.

  • Tracks all integrated screen blood work to ensure results are noted in the medical record.

  • Review test results with providers and patients.

  • Educates patients on vaccine recommendations including but not limited to Flu, RSV, and TDAP and administers as required.

  • Provides education on RhoGam as needed and administers as required.

  • Coordinates care for Gestational Diabetic patients and provides Rx for glucometer as well as contact information for nutritional counseling. Confirms appointment with MFM for continuous monitoring of blood sugar.

  • Provides and monitors care of patients with Hx of preterm labor.

  • Sets up home health care for patients who are hyperemic or require other medical at home treatments.

  • Schedules all inductions and C sections with L&D and all Suction D&C with Family Planning.

  • Acts as liaison between patient and providers.

  • Updates weekly EDC report - tracks delivered and anticipated deliveries for RPA.

  • Completes all disability/FMLA paperwork.

  • Educates clinical staff in the practice of Obstetrics.

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Minimum of one year in a medical office setting.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred.

  • Knowledge of EPIC Systems.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse.

  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
