The Executive Programs Team within AT&T’s Federal Solutions group supports our Nation’s senior executives, providing telecommunications services worldwide. These services include critical voice, video, data, and collaboration services supporting continuous mission critical, national security operations.

AT&T has an opening for a Lead Logistics in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area to support the Northstar Program in providing telecommunications services to the Federal Government.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

This position resides within the AT&T’s National Security, Executive Programs, Air to Ground organization. The program title for the position is Asset Manager and it is responsible for the management, direction and oversight of - but not limited to - receiving, selecting, packing, shipping, repair pipeline, and spare inventory of hardware assets throughout the operational network, and will lead license renewal and version tracking of program software.

The Asset Manager is a vital position in providing direction to the Operations team to oversee upgrades throughout the network, coordinate the logistics of maintenance related issues, and provide support where applicable with Engineering Change Request review, approval, implementation, documentation, and implementation according to established policies, procedures and management guidance.

The Asset Manager also serves as alternate Logistics Manager helping with order placement and tracking, vendor source selection, bill of materials development, capital planning, vendor invoicing, supply chain management, product end of sales support notifications, and supplier performance management.

  • be capable of gaining proficiency using AssetWin asset management software

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • manage, safeguard, coordinate and account for all program asset management aspects at our Waldorf MD, Offutt AFB NE, Bellevue NE, and Oakton VA locations

  • maintain asset management systems AssetWin database, for all Air to Ground programs asset relocations and purchases to ensure site specific configuration management

  • produce/design AssetWin User Defined Fields (UDF) when applicable

  • customize asset management system to improve ease of use and/or accuracy (item photos, user interface, costs, etc.)

  • develop/upkeep user documentation (e.g. user manual, labelling guide, etc.)

  • place barcode labels on new equipment according to Labelling Guide instructions

  • implement, configure, and support network hardware/firmware

  • document network inventory to quickly access information needed to diagnose problems

  • track test equipment calibration schedules

  • prepare/send weekly Verification Testing reports to Management

  • ensure verification testing is performed according to the Equipment Testing procedures

  • identify lost/found equipment, what was tested, what was improperly located/labelled, etc.

  • oversee repair and maintenance expenditures made to maintain existing assets

  • review and approve repair proposals and invoices

  • review and catalog/store repair invoices

  • gather repair packing slips upon repair return

  • log all equipment repair returns; record upgrades/mods/dates/fix action etc.

  • update Shipping Logbook

  • update UPS and FedEx accounts

  • provide a site equipment configuration with required Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) which is used to conduct an audit. All upgrades and/or deviations are recorded and entered into site specific files and the asset management database

  • administer supply, storage, tracking, and accessibility of equipment to ensure the team can initiate, maintain, restore, and repair communications in a timely fashion.

  • maintain a predetermined amount of inventory to anticipate supply chain lags, uncertainties in supply, demand, and movement of goods, and to store bulk purchases that leverage economies of scale.

  • hold seat on Configuration Change Board (CCB) to review and approve all proposed changes to system baseline

  • post and distribute spares, repair, and receiving reports

  • develop new reports to meet program and business needs, and ensure optimal integration/allocation of resources

  • perform trend analysis and alert Program Manager and project staff of issues impacting program and functional areas

  • maintain a working knowledge of corporate policies, administrative & government regulations and legal requirements that relate to purchase of equipment, security of data, and copyright laws

  • monitor active purchase orders funding to ensure adequate funding for repairs is available

  • annually adjust and transfer funds to current contract option year to support operational tempo

  • create capital and expense purchase requisitions using Ingot purchasing system

  • familiarity or ability to learn AT&T business intelligence Oracle tool to provide purchasing and Invoicing reports

  • utilize Insight requisition purchasing system to place orders for software and hardware maintenance contracts

  • process vendor invoices and resolve payment issues

  • utilize a variety of mechanized systems to provide balance accuracy, create efficiencies in report data, track costs, and maintain budget analysis.

  • exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action

Required Qualifications:

  • This position has the potential of being over 40 hours per week, depending on the needs of the business. Includes nights and weekends.

  • Candidates possess an active security clearance and be clearable to Top-Secret.

  • 2 to 5 years relevant experience in area of responsibility. Typically, Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent eight years employment experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.

Our Lead Logistics earn between $100,000 to $135,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
