Description

We are seeking a Controller for our team in Wahoo, Nebraska. In this role, you will be a key player in the overall management of the company, handling a variety of financial activities such as accounting, job costing, purchasing, and vendor negotiations. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the financial health and growth of the company.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the company.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and maintain key metrics and reporting.

• Develop continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives.

• Support the General Manager in establishing sales and financial goals for the company and assist in meeting these goals.

• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key metrics.

• Advise on the financial implications of business activities.

• Participate in key company initiatives involving markets, products, technologies, and services.

• Implement disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments to safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.

• Assist in the preparation of annual production and financial budgets.

• Coordinate the preparation of all tax return filings, and audit activities with the company’s auditors.

• Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc. as requested.

• Manage commercial banking relationships and oversee checking, savings, and investment accounts.

• Interface with outside audit firms, suppliers and vendors, casualty/liability/property insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection agencies.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prior experience in Auditing

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in handling Cash Disbursements

• Prior experience in the construction or contractor industry

• Ability to strategize and implement financial control systems

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the finance department

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

• Knowledge of construction accounting software and project management software is a plus.
