II. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Brief statement why position exists.
To install, repair, and maintain production equipment, buildings, and facilities.
III. QUALIFICATIONS: Describe education and experience needed to perform the above.
Personnel will confirm.
Minimum High School or equivalent experience. Some electrical and mechanical experience, shop math, read mechanical and some elementary electrical drawings. 2+ years experience in maintenance repairs.
IV. TRAINING: Briefly state degree and depth of job training required for this position.
The first 90 days on the job training to demonstrate the ability to learn and perform the requirements of the position.
V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Descriptions of duties, physical, and visual requirements.
A. Tasks and Duties:
Maintain work area to THM standards.
Installs, sets up, and maintains most mechanical equipment as directed
Installs, operates, maintains, tests, and locates trouble on most types of AC equipment.
Knows how and does perform lubrication and periodic servicing of all types of equipment.
Reads mechanical and some electrical drawings.
Works on equipment with some help as the situation arises.
Determines when parts need replacement and repairs are necessary.
Works with personnel of higher classification to obtain additional knowledge of plants
electrical distribution system and power requirements on occasion. Knows company
rules and complies with them.
Starts, stops, maintains, and helps install plant utilities and production equipment.
Dismantles and assembles and helps on most electrical motors and allied equipment.
Repairs, replaces, and cleans parts.
- Uses (and is moderately skilled in) the use of electrical testing equipment commonly
used in an industrial plant, such as ammeters and voltmeter.
- Possesses a working knowledge of the following equipment:
a. Arc and gas welding equipment.
b. Power tools such as the drill press, cut-off saw, and portable power tools.
c. Hand tools and testing equipment of both electrical and mechanical trades.
d. Hoisting equipment.
Possesses the necessary tools of the trade.
Assists the Maintenance Leader and/or Electro-Mech Tech, Electro-Mech A or B when
necessary.
Operates mobile and hoisting equipment as necessary.
Works in any phase of the plastic operation as directed.
Fills out records when required.
Performs miscellaneous jobs as directed.
Operates forklifts as necessary.
Maintains forklift certification.
