Independent Health Web Architect-Senior in United States

Overview

The Web Architect-Senior will be responsible for providing technical solutions to a variety of enterprise-wide business problems that impact the web and mobile technologies. They will ensure business strategy, industry standards, technologies and relative trends are reflected in the IH web architecture. They will also be accountable for analyzing and designing solutions to meet enterprise-wide business requirements and guiding the implementation team to successful solution implementation. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management, will be essential. They will also be responsible for understanding the interdependencies of the enterprise landscape. This position will lead teams of architects, application developers and other IT resources across development teams in a DevOps capacity displaying a desire to automate manual, repetitive tasks. While working with the Enterprise Architecture, IT Leadership, Department Heads and Executive Team leaders, the Web Architect-Senior will establish a vision of the overall future state of the web architecture and then guide its implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. An additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Six (6) years of experience in systems support role with demonstrated results in analytics, configuring, coding, testing, problem solving and support, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge required. Knowledge of health care payer business is preferred.

  • Experience with methodology-based development (SDLC). Agile experience preferred.

  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools. Microsoft TFS is preferred.

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with continuous development tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, Microsoft TFS.

  • Ability to articulate designs to other technical staff through discussion, diagrams, and writing.

  • Demonstrated experience of application design principles and application architecture.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and application roadmaps.

  • Ability to navigate and work on multiple development platforms such as Unix and Windows.

  • Expertise with at least one development paradigm and experience with various others such as procedural languages, object-oriented languages, message-oriented-middleware, and ETL tools.

  • Experience in the following applications/languages/patterns required: C#, .Net, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, XML, AngularJS, JQuery, SQL.

  • Experience in the following applications/languages/patterns is desired: Active MQ, Kafka, Siebel, Splunk.

  • Strong experience developing applications for multiple browsers and applications for iOS and Android.

  • Strong experience with CMS tools such as dotNetNuke.

  • Strong database design and SQL experience. Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and No-SQL databases.

  • Experience implementing third party (vendor) systems and designing integration points to core administration systems.

  • Ability to lead teams, work as part of a team or to be self-directed as required. Lead by example and serve as a mentor for other team members.

  • Good organizational and communication skills; ability to guide development of various-sized projects and lead teams of architects and developers.

  • Experience with automated unit and/or functional testing methods preferred.

  • Experience writing and facilitating Requests for Information/Proposals.

  • Experience estimating projects for multiple IT functions.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to other architects, application developers and other IT resources to solve problems, provide guidance and direction.

  • Provide technical direction by developing/recommending alternatives and creative solutions that are both effective and efficient in cost and process.

  • Gain approval and organizational commitment for systems, infrastructure and software plans from appropriate IT and business unit leaders.

  • Make technology choices based on business requirements and information systems strategy, principles, and structure.

  • Evaluate workload and capacity of systems and provide insight during estimating processes.

  • Be an active participant in the creation and adherence to standards and guidelines to ensure project quality.

  • Create reusability into systems for other IT resources to utilize in their development efforts.

  • Develop written specifications and documentation according to the engineering lifecycle that aid in development, use and support.

  • Manage testing of all system functions.

  • Remain current in languages, development techniques and UX patterns.

  • Ensure stability, integrity, availability, productivity, and efficient operation of assigned systems.

Hiring Compensation Range: $140,000 - $155,000 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
