Job Description

A Test Engineer must have experience in the coordination and execution of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures and scripts. Must have knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately. Must be able to create test reports. The test engineer must be able to test IT hardware, software, systems and networks. Test Engineer also develops and troubleshoots complex automated scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Review and analyze system specifications

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective strategies and test plans

  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results

  • Evaluate product code according to specifications

  • Perform user acceptance testing

  • Develop and troubleshoots complex automated scripts

  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects

  • Report bugs and errors to development teams

  • Help troubleshoot issues

  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

  • Oversee all test events and manage multiple test events defining and staffing these test events with appropriate resources

  • Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing

  • Manage the defect database

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Pega is a plus

  • Pega certification is a plus

  • Past experience on Federal Government projects is a plus

  • Proven experience with test driven development

  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude

  • Strong organizational skills
