The Teacher Assistant works closely with classroom teachers to provide a fun, nurturing and healthy environment for young children. Responsibilities include:

• Assist classroom teacher to plan and implement activities for classroom programs

• Develop positive relationships with children and families

• Help with adequate staff coverage for all classrooms and activities onsite

• Assist in completing case notes

Starting at $17.46 per hour; Monday-Friday;30-35 hours per week/44 weeks per year – Head Start30-35 hours per week/52 weeks per year – Early Head Start

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED is requiredANDat least one year experience working in an early childhood program. A Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is strongly recommended. A bachelor's degree, associate degree, or coursework relevant to early childhood or a relevant field (at least 12 credits)ANDa minimum of one year’s teaching experience are highly preferred.
