What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Plans and supervises employees engaged in activities as the maintenance and repair of production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds as well as the installation of capital projects. Works with outside vendors, Engineering, Quality, and EHS departments as needed to improve processes and adhere to EPA, safety, and quality standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and supervises the activities of hourly maintenance employees, contractors, and other skilled labor in the maintenance and repair of production systems, utilities, and/or buildings and grounds. Supervises skilled labor, outside contractors, and support personnel involved in the installation of capital projects.

  • Works with outside vendors, engineering, quality, and EHS departments as needed to improve processes and adhere to EPA, safety, and quality standards.

  • Supervises maintenance and/or construction activities within budgeted guidelines.

  • Ensures the effective maintenance of production systems and/or facilities equipment.

  • Provides for the scheduled preventive maintenance of equipment and/or facilities in assigned areas.

  • Provides for optimal adjustment and setup of production and/or facilities equipment in assigned areas.

  • Reviews department and plant KPIs. Monitors performance of assigned areas and documents completion of work.

  • Develops and presents recommendations for process improvement.

  • Implements company safety, environmental, and GMP policies.

  • Adheres to general standards to promote a cooperative working environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.

  • Ensures adherence to Labor Agreement.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications :

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience or High School Diploma / GED and 7+ years related work experience and 3+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Related experience to include:

  • 2+ years related experience in maintenance of equipment or facilities.

Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams

Skilled in:

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem/situation analysis

  • Effective time and task management

  • Multitasking capabilities

  • Flexibility and adaptability

Ability to:

  • Communicate to a broad and diverse audience.

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience with 3+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Related experience to include:

  • Maintenance and reliability techniques such as RCA, FMEA, MTBF, and MTBR.

  • Continuous improvement.

Knowledge of:

  • SAP or similar ERP system

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves moderate to heavy weight objects (10-50 lbs.).

  • Reach and grasp objects / Hand eye coordination.

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

  • Identify and distinguish color and shades of color.

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury.

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
