Description
The YMCA of Broome County is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Summer Camp Director to oversee the daily operations of our summer camp program.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to create a fun and safe environment for campers. Responsibilities:
Train and supervise camp staff.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff by enforcing camp policies and procedures.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on camp activities and address any concerns.
Maintain a positive and inclusive camp culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth.
Job Type:
35-40 hours per week during the summer months
Summer Camp runs from June 24th through August 30th
Availability:
Must be available for the entire summer
Salary:
$17.00 per hour
Requirements
Associate's degree in education, recreation, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role at a summer camp or similar program.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners.
Knowledge of best practices in youth development and experiential learning.
