Position Overview:
Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic equipment and making radiographs of designated anatomical areas of interest.
Limitations and Requirements :
· Because this position is Pre-Registry and the employed is finishing their last semester or training the exams performed must be under Direct supervision. The CDPHE defines Direct Supervision in this scenario as (Present). This is described in 2.6.1.14 page 18 of the CDPHE Radiation Control 6CCR1007-1 Part 02.
· The employed must provide MMH with documentation of training showing they have met requirements to apply and sit for the registry upon completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. This is described in Appendix 2D page 29 of the CDPHE Radiation Control 6CCR1007-1 Part 02
Essential Functions :
· Perform a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomical areas of interest. Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
· Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
· Position patients for each anatomical view using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as necessary.
· Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
· Accurately process images for optimal quality. Match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
· Charge radiographic procedures in; able to modify orders per protocol. Demonstrate acceptable film quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and collimation.
· Understands and uses the Image Archival System
· Monitor all unread studies without notes.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.
Qualifications & Skills:
a) Education: Current enrollment and engaged in the last semester prior to graduation from an
AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
b) Training & Experience: Near Completion and engaged in the last semester of an AMA
approved school of Radiologic Technology and prepared to sit for and pass the ARRT
Registry Exam within 90 days post-graduation. This is described in 2.6.1.14 page 18 of the
CDPHE Radiation Control 6CCR1007-1 Part 02.
c) Job Knowledge: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to Radiologic exams.
Excellent communication skills.
