AON Strategic Initiatives Director (Human Capital) in United States

This position sits within Aon's Value Enablement Office. The Value Enablement Office for ABS (Aon Business Services) ensures that ABS initiatives align with the company’s strategic objectives, oversees, and owns the portfolio execution, ensuring the delivery of tangible business value including revenue growth, process optimization, realizable productivity and to ensure that our customers and colleagues achieve the maximum value from ABS capabilities and investments. This role collaborates with Solution Lines, global ABS capabilities including operations and product/platform/service teams, to define, prioritize and be responsible for value delivery.

What the day will look like

  • Lead the development of a holistic strategic transformation plan, aligning technology, operations, and functional advancements with long-term business goals.

  • Support complex business / operational problems solving through relevant analytical approaches and customized solutions

  • Work with senior leadership to identify transformation opportunities in technology, operations, and corporate functions

  • Oversee the execution of strategic / transformation initiatives across Technology, Operations, and other Functions, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring seamless project management

  • Manage all aspects of a transformation project, including relationships with various stakeholders

  • Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them by focusing on the most important challenges

  • Collaboratively work with other team members, within / across teams spread across multiple countries, to develop recommendations, plans, and other materials

  • Communicate effectively with ABS senior leadership, conveying complex information and progress reports in a clear and concise manner

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress towards strategic goals and recommend adjustments as needed

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, or a related field (strongly preferred)

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in overseeing transformation initiatives within a large corporate environment or a management consulting firm

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing transformation initiatives

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Ability to roll up the sleeves and do the work as needed

  • Quantitative & qualitative analysis in solving complex organization problems (e.g., operating model design)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams

  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 - $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, Illinois The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
