Responsibilities

Summary :

As a Solution Architect you will create and execute software solutions that harmonize with Frontdoor's strategic business and architectural objectives. As a pivotal figure within the technology realm of any organization, a Solution Architect ensures that technical solutions not only fulfill their intended functions but also remain in sync with the organization's long-term strategies, architecture and adaptable to evolving demands. This role entails close collaboration with diverse stakeholders, such as business line leaders, product managers, TPMs, developers, and infrastructure teams, to engineer systems that are scalable, dependable, and optimized for efficiency. The Solution Architect will be responsible for delivering technology solutions for Frontdoor and mentoring others along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders and technical stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.

  • Develop high-level and detailed solution architecture designs that address functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Ensure the proposed solutions align with industry best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations.

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to determine their suitability for solving specific business problems.

  • Select appropriate tools, frameworks, and platforms to support the architecture.

  • Review and approve technical designs and code changes to ensure they align with the architecture.

  • Identify potential technical and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Participate in the development process to provide leadership in a hands-on manner for implementation concepts that require advanced level of expertise

  • Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and guidelines.

  • Communicate architectural decisions and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead by example, strengthening the team by providing guidance, setting technical goals, and stoking team productivity.

  • Provide mentorship and training to team members to help them develop their skills and knowledge.

  • Conduct technical performance evaluations for team members and provide feedback for their professional growth.

  • Continuously monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Provide guidance on scalability and performance improvements.

  • Ensure that security best practices and compliance requirements are integrated into the architecture and design.

  • Address data privacy concerns and implement security measures.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience required :

  • A focused ability to influence –without direct authority

  • 8+ years of technical design and implementation or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant and previous experience in a software development role

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, DevOps and CI/CD

  • Experience in Cloud computing, preferably with GCP or AWS

  • In-depth understanding of architectural patterns, principles, and frameworks

  • Strong technical background in key technology stacks; application platforms, infrastructure, SQL and NoSQL database storage and streaming, APIs and Microservices

  • Hands-on technical implementation experience

  • Working knowledge of event driven implementations, asynchronous APIs and processing, understanding of and developing existing code, and debugging of newly developed and deployed solutions

  • The ability to analyze existing and proposed designs

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent executive presence and ability to engage at the most senior level of the organization

  • Experience in developing products in an Agile development environment

  • Understanding of Git and development activities such as merge and conflict resolution of code

  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services

  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum and Scaled Agile processes

  • Experience with big data systems (e.g., Hadoop)

  • Knowledgeable in GenAI models, prompt engineering
