AIG Senior Claims Operations Lead in United States

This position is part of the UK Claims Operations Team and will report to the UK Head of Claims Operations. This varied role will have responsibility for implementation of claims strategic initiatives, delivering service excellence through process improvement initiatives, managing all first line claims requirements including SOX, FCA, PRA, internal/external regulatory and control environment and dealing with day-to-day claims’ call for help.

How you will make an impact

  • Effectively deliver improvement initiatives and projects in the UK leading projects independently and work closely with Claims Operations Analyst in delivering project plans.

  • Work in close collaboration with the International Claims Programme/Project Manager in delivery of IT projects and prioritisation of IT Audit & Regulatory changes for the UK.

  • Maintain project documentation including reporting, plans, risk register, etc and as a Senior Claims Operations Analyst report out to managers and stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Challenge current processes and ways of working identifying improvement opportunities and driving positive change in the UK whilst aligning to the broader International and Global priorities.

  • Execute Global and International strategic initiatives to ensure UK Claims embed change and the UK local requirements are catered for whilst recognizing the importance of consistency and alignment.

  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and communication with a focus on collaboration within the UK and more broadly across International Claims.

  • Drive a strong risk management culture in UK Claims with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Maintain strong first line controls for key risks identified in UK claims working collaboratively with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Operational Risk Management (ORM), Internal Audit Group (IAG) and Compliance to continuously improve.

  • Coordinate and own (where appropriate) risk event mitigation plans and resolution of internal audit action plans across the UK.

  • In collaboration with Global Claims Governance & Compliance, maintain UK Claims policies, standards, and controls supporting/delivering training where necessary.

  • Effectively prepare and accommodate changes in regulatory environment that impact AIG’s compliance obligations.

  • Partner with the claims teams across the UK to provide continuous feedback sharing information / learnings to manage and improve regulatory performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • A background in working in an operational environment and process improvement.

  • The successful candidate will have proven experience in project delivery and have the ability to communicate and influence at varying levels.

  • The individual will also have a proven track record in governance within the Insurance industry, preferably within claims.

  • A Compliance, Governance and/or audit, regulatory background with a good awareness of the Business and Regulatory environment

  • A proven track record as an effective change agent will be advantageous.
