We are looking for an experienced crew member who is searching to do what they'll love - supporting effective store safety programs and promoting safety awareness! Trader Joe's is unlike any place you've ever worked. Trust us on that. The qualified crew member has at least 3 years of work experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, California.

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Reviewing and following-up on store incident reports to identify and escalate based on severity.

  • Assisting stores with safety-related inquiries.

  • Responsible for all scheduling/delivery of safety supplies.

  • Preparing weekly safety bulletin messages.

  • Reviewing accident investigations and providing feedback as necessary.

  • Reviewing and track store monthly safety inspections and safety meeting minutes to ensure compliance and identify safety trends.

  • Assisting stores with maintaining current training documents.

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly accident reports and claim statistics.

  • Working collaboratively with other departments.

The qualified person has:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 3 plus years crew member experience at Trader Joe's stores and knowledge of the company.

  • An active member of store's Safety Committee or prior experience dealing with Safety at the store level.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
