Glimpse of the Job

We are seeking a Psychologist who can exercise a multicultural competence in administering mental health counseling and outreach to individuals, couples and groups. This role may provide supervision for Master/Doctoral level students in Counseling and Counseling Psychology, and adjunct supervision for Doctoral interns. We need an individual who understands the high demand for clinical services that may arise in an institution such as Texas A&M and be willing to provide needed services to meet such demands. Additionally, this position participates in departmental and university committees, engages in continuing education, research, and professional development.

    Who we are

Texas A&M Health, University Health Services - Counseling and Mental Health Center, supports the academic mission of Texas A&M University by enhancing Aggie’s educational, career, personal, and interpersonal development. We provide a wide range of services, including psychoeducational workshops aimed at helping students develop skills for managing the stress of college, group counseling focused on helping student better manage emotions and navigate their relationships, individual counseling for a wide range of mental wellness concerns, as well as psychiatric medication evaluation and treatment.

Qualifications

Psychologist I

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • One year full-time supervised internship in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting, pre-doctoral internship preferably APA accredited

    Psychologist II

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • One year full-time post-doctoral clinical experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting

    Psychologist I & II Required Licenses and Certifications: Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist. Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment. Must maintain licensure for continued employment.

    *Compensation and classification are based on the analyses of the above qualifications during the recruitment process.
