We are currently recruiting for a Lead Maintenance Engineer vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at a skilled professional level and help us maintain and build on the excellent quality standards we commit to.

Duties

Safety

Participate in HSSE Safety committees.

Drive safety standards throughout site and operational work areas.

Ensure strict adherence to site security standards.

Ensure all PPE standards are maintained and available to contractors.

Ensure all contractors are vendor approved, insured, and fully trained to applicable STERIS Health & Safety procedures.

Participate in site Hazid, Hazop or LOPA equipment assessments as required.

Quality

Ensure Change Control Processes are adhered to in full, User Requirements Specification (URS), Functional & Design Specifications, Risk Assessments, IQ/OQ/PQ and other GAMP documentation are developed and approved to meet the STERIS requirements for all new equipment installations or equipment upgrade projects.

Responsible for updating plant/equipment drawings.

Participate in regulatory inspections when required.

Participate in Customer quality audits when required.

Ensuring that a timely and effective communication and escalation process exists to raise quality issues to the appropriate levels of management.

Ensure all required on the job training is complete and training record audit ready at all times.

Cost

Ensure all Engineering projects are properly and correctly budgeted.

Responsible for ensuring that on completion of Engineering projects a spare parts list is forwarded to the site Purchasing Officer to ensure parts are available when required.

Responsible for managing all project quotes, liaising with the Purchasing Officer in respect to raising PO’s when required and acknowledging when elements of a project is completed so suppliers’ invoices are paid in a timely manner.

Delivery

Responsible for delivering projects successfully, within the agreed timeframe & within budget.

Responsible for design, procurement, installation and commissioning of all major engineering projects of new plant and process equipment to improve compliance, efficiency and quality.

Communicate to employees all issues that affect the plant.

Oversee equipment upgrades and refurbishment projects, effectively coordinating with vendor support in line with change control policies and ensures correct transfer to operational management after delivery of a project.

Is regularly available on standby to support the Facilities team in the event of an equipment issue that was part of a new installation or upgrade.

As part of the extended EO Engineering team, helps and advises upon request with complex problems at other EO locations and support standardization

Participate and Lead (if appropriate) improvement projects as deemed by Management.

Education Degree

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a highly regulated operations environment. The role will require the ability to demonstrate a high level of technical aptitude, computer literacy and willingness to “achieve”. Previous Supervisory experience necessary.

An ability to build relationships with engineering, HR, quality operations and operations teams is key.

A structured, logical thinker with good analytical skills, and excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills, you will have the ability to handle complex problems and deliver clear, concise solutions in a rapidly changing environment.

Project management experience is an advantage.

Able to learn fast and hit the ground running - there is potential to develop from here into more senior roles with in the business.

Continuous improvement background is an advantage
