The Program Specialist III, under general supervision, acts as the grants and contracts coordinator on behalf of the Texas A&M Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Evidence Center.

Texas A&M Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Evidence Center (Evidence Center) is a newly created center with the mission to be an authoritative source of objective information and analysis on the Agri-Food system’s effects on health, the environment, and the economy. The Evidence Center conducts and publishes state-of-the-art research synthesis studies of different types (e.g., systematic reviews, meta-analyses) important for understanding the impact of agriculture, food, nutrition, and natural resource policies on human, environmental, and economic health and sustainability. The Evidence Center drives the next generation of research synthesis methodologies that are rigorous and transparent and acts as a leading convener in gaining global consensus on standards of evidence, as well as promotes and strengthens public trust in science-informed policies and solutions. This position will be located in College Station, Texas and will require travel to the Texas A&M Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Evidence Center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

What We Want:

The Texas A&M Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Evidence Center seeks a Program Specialist III who will coordinate grants and contracts on behalf of the Evidence Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of research proposals and budgets for Evidence Center leadership.

  • Facilitates planning and linkages with existing funded projects or research efforts with Evidence Center leadership.

  • Monitors post-award spending, process payroll allocations and assists with budget projections on all Evidence Center grants and contracts in conjunction with the Evidence Center Business Administrator.

  • Works as a liaison with program managers and sponsored projects officers regarding funding, compliance and required reporting.

  • Advises leadership on the appropriate use of sponsored funds.

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 years of experience

    Preferred Experience:

  • 5 years of experience

  • Experience working in a university system administration

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

This position will require travel twice a month to the Texas A&M Agriculture, Food andNutrition Evidence Center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.

Flexible Work Arrangements: Flexible work schedule and remote work may be available for this position, pending employee eligibility requirements are met in accordance with AgriLife Alternate Work Location Procedures.
