The University of Southern California seeks a candidate for a teaching position to teach undergraduate and graduate students in courses offered by the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position. We are interested in exceptional candidates at all levels. Competitive candidates will have the training and experience necessary to teach effectively in a highly-ranked department that advances undergraduate students through an accredited BS degree program and graduate students enrolled in MS and PhD programs. While we are interested in candidates with backgrounds in all areas of Industrial and Systems Engineering, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Analytics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Optimization, Systems Simulation, Cloud Analytics, and computational tools for analytics (proficiency with Python, R, and SQL is a plus). At a minimum, candidates must be qualified to teach Master’s level classes in predictive analytics, data mining, and performance analysis with simulation as well as undergraduate classes in Python programming and database systems. This is primarily a teaching position; all candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching. The position will require the majority of the time to be spent on teaching with reduced obligation for university service and no expectation for research. An earned doctorate degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field is required.

The annual base salary ranges for the following faculty ranks for this posting are:

  • Lecturer of Industrial and Systems Engineering : $89,250 - $105,000

  • Senior Lecturer of Industrial and Systems Engineering: $105,000 - $120,750

  • Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering Practice: $120,750 - $141,750

  • Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering Practice: $141,750 - $183,750
