Job Description

General Description:

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions in electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. Maintains the facility. Installs new equipment. Adheres to all plant policies and rules. Maintains exceptional safety and housekeeping standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time, as scheduled.

  • Strong desire to work safely and help others also work safely. Takes primary responsibility for their own safety. Follows all policies and procedures. Understands safety is a condition of employment.

  • Maintains all housekeeping.

  • Ability to respond on a 24-hour basis to plant breakdowns.

  • Performs equipment installation on complex equipment.

  • Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on complex equipment.

  • Performs diagnostic troubleshooting using schematic drawings, wire drawings, and technical manuals.

  • Replace or repair worn or defective parts.

  • Works with electrical distribution centers.

  • Performs basic welding, machinists, millwright, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance.

  • Assists technicians in other crafts with troubleshooting and problem solving.

  • Performs daily inspection of facility, record findings, and report findings to maintenance coach.

  • Assists in the development of preventative and predictive maintenance plans.

  • Completes and closes assigned work orders using plant maintenance system.

  • Ability to safely operate forklift and aerial equipment.

  • Any and all duties as assigned.

Beneficial Experience and Skills:

  • Experience installing conduit and wiring.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in electrical and mechanical industrial maintenance, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Training Requirements:

  • Arc Flash Training.

  • High voltage training.

  • Low voltage training.

  • Areal lift training.

  • Forklift training.

  • Fall protection training.

  • Confined space training.

  • LO/TO training.

  • CMMS training.

  • General and all job specific training including safety, housekeeping, job procedures, forms, etc.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee daily to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Frequent lifting or moving materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and grasp.

  • Medically approved for respirator usage.

  • Subject to hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather.

  • Employees will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

  • Required to work 12 hour rotating shift scheduled including working days and nights and rotating frequently.

PPE Requirements:

  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, and safety vest. Additional PPE may also be required at times depending on the task performed.

  • Hard hats required when performing overhead work, or when required.

  • Fall protection when required.

  • Respiratory protection when required.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Vocational school diploma and/or apprenticeship in industrial, electrical, mechanical maintenance or electronics is preferred.
