    REGISTERED NURSE JOB OVERVIEW

    This Travel RN position the perfect role for someone that loves their autonomy and enjoys the excitement of traveling to different hospitals to provide clinical support for urological procedures. As a Traveling RN with HealthTronics, you will be preparing patients for lithotripsy procures, assisting the physician during the operation and help with patient recovery.

    You will get to travel throughout the Virginia and North Carolina region supporting 5-10 different hospitals on a monthly basis. Due to the drive to case ratio, there is overnight travel requirements on a weekly basis. This position offers a variable schedule. There are weeks that you will only have cases in VA, but you can expect to travel to NC as well during the month. There will be weeks that you may only be scheduled 15 hours but you will still get paid for a minimum of 40-hours per week.

    REGISTERED NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interviews and obtains the patient history utilizing direct and indirect sources of data through pre-procedure phone call with patient, appropriate family member, caregiver, or nurse.

  • Performs preprocedural assessments within the required time frame prior to the procedure.

  • Initiates collaboration with urologist and anesthesiologist prior to the procedure, and as necessary for additional labs, clearances, etc.

  • Utilizes the Recovery Room Score System to continuously assess the patient’s post procedure status to form a nursing diagnosis and identify desired outcomes.

  • Performs waived testing including urine (pregnancy) and blood (glucose) for the purpose of screening. Follows the quality control procedure and documents results according to policy and reports results outside of patient specific parameters to the physician.

  • Assists physician with cystoscopy and ureteral stent placement.

  • Reviews patient chart for completeness. Follows policies and procedures for documentation.

  • Assists with cleaning and turnover of rooms.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have post-operative experience in an operating room environment

  • Must be currently licensed and registered in appropriate state(s) as a Registered Nurse and in good standings.

  • Must maintain and provide evidence of current CPR & ACLS certification as well as other appropriate state (s) licenses as required by law and operational needs.

  • Employee must maintain D.O.T. physical standards when applicable. Annual physical exam/health history and TB screening required along with other hospital requirements to practice nursing.

  • Maintain and complete current HIPAA training and requirements.

  • RN must have a minimum of 1 year of experience, experience with communicating regular status to clients, management, and peers.

  • May be required to lift more than 50 lbs.
