Canadian Tire Mobile Equipment Mechanic in United States

What you'll do:

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic completes all preventive and predictive maintenance work on the various electrically powered material handling equipment in the DC. They also complete minor repairs depending on their skills and knowledge. They will also assist other members of the maintenance team as time allows.

  • Inspect, diagnose and service electric powered lift truck systems, including electrical, steering, braking, hydraulic, frames, transmissions, drive axles, suspension, and wheels and lifting systems pertaining to powered lift truck equipment.

  • Diagnose and service drive units and control systems in electric vehicles.

  • Use safety techniques for lifting, rigging, blocking, and lockout devices. Ensure that all safety requirements related to the work area are followed.

  • Operate hand, power, specialized, precision, and electronic service tools to make required repairs.

  • Maintain Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Service records.

  • Communicates with stakeholders regarding problems and repair timelines.

  • Prepare spare parts requisitions and work with suppliers to ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that required lubricants, paints, and sundry shop supplies are kept in sufficient quantities to meet work requirements.

  • Assist maintenance technical repair team as duties allow.

  • Always keep work area clean and tidy.

What you bring:

  • Completed a recognized Apprenticeship as a Power Lift Truck Technician (outside Alberta) or completed Manufacturer Certified Power Lift Truck Technician training with a minimum of two years experience. Preference given to applicants with Johnston, Toyota, or Crown factory training.

  • Must be computer literate. Adept with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Prior CMMS experience is advantageous.

  • Ability to work a day shift 6:30am-3:00pm
