What we want

We're seeking a Program Coordinator for the Engineering MBA Program to assist with the planning, administration, and implementation of programs and services for the Engineering MBA Program and its students. The Program Coordinator serves as a resource to the Director and Assistant Director in supporting students' academic and personal development needs. The Coordinator also supports the Full-Time MBA Program as needed. The Engineering MBA Program provides a unique opportunity allowing Texas A&M University graduates with their Bachelor of Science in Engineering to immediately start working on an MBA after graduation, without requiring full-time work experience. Essential Duties/Tasks

  • Program Administration & Advising - Serves as a resource to the Director and Assistant Director to support students' academic and personal development needs. Provides academic advising for graduate students. Advises for course selection, registration, academic planning, educational goal setting, add/drop and withdrawal procedures, scholarship and financial aid processes, degree plans, and certificate completion. Manages for academic requirements and implements intervention strategies for students who receive academic alerts or who need assistance in maintaining or improving their academic standing. Facilitates timely degree plan and graduation application submission. First point of contact for all Engineering MBA students. Responds to inquiries regarding the Engineering MBA program. Maintains student records and databases. Processes paperwork such as certificates, degree plans, degree petitions, add/drops, no-record drops, and grade changes. Compiles MBA Program statistics as needed for assessments of students and faculty. May update and deliver program training sessions regarding advising, registration, degree plans, and other student services. Maintains MBA Program academic calendar on Outlook and Gmail.

  • Program Coordination & Event Planning - Assists with planning, administering, and implementing programs and services for the Engineering MBA Program and its students. Plans and implements program events such as lectures, seminars, meetings, workshops, graduation, and student orientation. Reserves conference rooms and classrooms as needed. Travels to pick up and deliver supplies in the local area. Coordinates program communications and marketing including weekly newsletters and presentations for monthly student meetings. Assists with assessment of programs and student experience. Works in coordination with Career Management Center (and other graduate programs when needed) to ensure event alignment.

  • Expense Processing - Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for MBA-related programs and events. Initiates, records, and submits program expenses.

  • Supervision & Travel Coordination - Supervises student worker(s) for the Full-Time and Engineering MBA Programs. Hires, supervises, and trains student workers. Provides yearly evaluations and regular feedback to ensure job duties are met. Coordinates logistics, registration, and travel arrangements and prepares itineraries for student and staff travel for case competitions and conferences throughout the year for the MBA Program. Records and processes receipts and expenses after travel for the program and may perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Two years of program/project administration, event or logistical planning, program coordinator or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, business, humanities, student affairs, education, or related field.

  • Experience in Academic Advising, event planning, and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Experience using Compass, Canvas, DPSS, Howdy, UAS, and other administrative systems at TAMU or similar platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while using sound judgment to re-prioritize as needed.

  • Exceptional skills of emotional intelligence, conflict management, communication, organization, initiative, customer service, and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

  • Experience working with graduate or undergraduate students of varying backgrounds.

  • State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license.

    What you need to know

    Salary: $45,000 - $53,000; commensurate with selected hire's experience.

Other Requirements and Factors: The position requires lifting or moving moderate-weight materials and supplies on a regular basis. Travel may be occasionally required to run errands locally and attend information sessions, recruiting fairs, and other program-related events. It also includes occasional work before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., or on weekends.
