Financial Systems & Optimization Manager

The Manager, Financial Systems & Optimization (FS&O) will play a major part in maximizing Shake Shack's investment in Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning. The role will be involved with all aspects of system administration and support, and will also assist in defining strategy, managing projects, and developing business solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, is a strong communicator, and has a knack for networking and building relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for the support and administration of financial and payroll systems, focusing on strategic planning and delivery.

  • Collaborate with system administrators in IT and People Resources on cross functional projects and with the intake and governance processes.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand business requirements, architect solutions, and continuously optimize processes to add value.

  • Oversee Workday Payroll system administration and serve as the Product Owner for all financial and payroll systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategy.

  • Develop and execute project plans in collaboration with the FS&O, Enterprise, and HR Technology teams using defined management methodologies and facilitating frequent and open dialogue within project teams.

  • Manage the configuration and testing of system features and enhancements, including maintenance of the financial data model, business processes, tenant setup, and validations.

  • Manage support activities, including resolving help desk incidents, maintaining the backlog of enhancements, and intake of future initiatives.

  • Serve as a subject matter expect for Workday Financial by staying up to date on all feature releases, regularly engaging with the Workday Community and networking opportunities, and promoting system best practices

  • Provide improved reporting and analytics for our teams leveraging the full suite of Workday tools, including custom financial reports (of all types), dashboards, Worksheets, Discovery Boards, and OfficeConnect workbooks

Skills & Experience

  • 4-6 years of Workday Financials experience

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience

  • Solutions orientated with demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail

  • Outstanding ability to communicate and drive discussions on systems design, configuration, reporting, controls, and overall best practices

  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Unparalleled attention to detail

  • Restaurant or multi-unit retail industry experience a plus

  • Exemplifies high emotional intelligence. Can be described as confident, caring, team-oriented, guest-focused, supportive, empathetic, and trustworthy

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Workday PRO certification in any Financials module is a plus

Pay Range - $93,940.00 - $151,245.00 *The salary paid to a successful applicant will depend on the applicant’s experience, qualifications, business needs and resources, and the candidate’s location.
