What the day will look like

The LATAM Regional Security Officer will be the main liaison between the centralized Global Security Services (GSS) organization and the LATAM Chief Operating Officer. The role will report directly to the

Global Chief Information Security Officer, with a dotted line to the LATAM Chief Operating Officer.

The RSO is responsible for oversight and governance of the implementation of many Security controls and services, such as Control Attestation and Service Delivery.

Risk Management: identifying, assessing and mitigating security risks within the region, demonstrating audit and self-identified findings, metrics and other service outputs.

Incident Response: leading the regional response to cybersecurity incidents, including detection, containment, eradication and recovery, in coordinate with the global Aon Cybersecurity Command Center.

Compliance and Governance: ensuring that the region aligns with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards. This includes maintaining documentation to prepare for audits and assessments.

Partner Collaboration: working closely with regional business leaders, IT teams and other partners to integrate security practices into business processes and IT operations. Provide reporting to leadership committees and Boards, as relevant.

Service Delivery Management: manage GSS service delivery critical issues and support GSS project implementations. Contribute to the ‘voice of the Business’ in development of GSS service enhancements.

How this opportunity is different

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this role is key in managing regional operational security risks via governance and oversight of global security controls. The role requires a broad understanding of security controls, their effective implementation within the region and understanding any challenges that might hinder successful implementation, coupled with good relationship management skills to enable business adoption.

This is a highly visible role within Aon to embed effective security controls at scale within the region. As the trusted security lead for the region, the role will present to local leaders, regulators and clients as needed.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Strong Information/Cyber Security knowledge and experience governing controls.

Knowledge of Physical and Personnel security principals and standard methodologies.

Experience with Compliance assurance and Internal Audit practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Spanish and Portuguese for effectively communicating with key partners.

Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP or CISM is a plus.
