Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Journeyman Reporting Analyst in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) Data Services Program. The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA’s national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace. This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

The CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.

As an essential part of The Program Management Office (PMO) organization, the Reporting Analyst  works within a highly matrixed team, reporting at both executive and client-facing levels. The PMO drives operational excellence through the implementation of industry best practices, standards of execution and customer-aligned delivery cadence. The PMO encompasses the program’s business operations functions and ensures these functions are aligned with the organization’s overall strategic goals. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of project management strategies, good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Members of this team are expected to collaborate cross-functionally across various functional groups to drive towards desired results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a point of contact for strategic reporting initiatives and activities within the DEFEND E organization

  • Gather stakeholder requirements to build and deliver reports in various report formats

  • Create insightful data visualizations, business reports or presentations by assembling data from disparate sources

  • Provide recommendations on how technology improves business outcomes and enhances team efficiency and effectiveness

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, implement, communicate, deliver, and interpret KPIs as leading indicators on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Collect and analyze information and data to gain a deeper understanding, identify strategic improvement opportunities, and make recommendations based on the data analysis

  • Collaborate effectively with customer-facing teams to provide Agency specific strategic data insights and offer suggestions and recommendations that will improve the customer experience

  • Take ownership of projects, effectively communicate results, and recommend improvements

  • Identify business improvement areas, translate them into structured analyses, synthesize data from multiple sources, and deliver insights

  • Support advanced analysis requests and develop insights using techniques such as scenario, sensitivity, and regression analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field or have equivalent related experience

  • A minimum of (3) three years of experience with data analysis and reporting

  • A minimum of (3) three years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel (Excel SME)

  • Deep understanding of best database practices using Excel

  • Expertise in manually manipulating Pivot Tables (formatting, calculated fields) and using advanced formulas (e.g. VLOOKUP, SUM IF, nested IF statements)

  • Highly proficient in creating dashboard reports within Excel

  • Extensive experience creating data models with calculated fields linking to separate data tables

  • Strong expertise in crafting intuitive and interactive reports and dashboards using Excel, PowerBI, or a similar tool

  • Experience using VBA to generate automated reports within Excel, data entry User Forms, and macros to manipulate/transform data

  • Ability to demonstrate complex data analysis and data visualization design upon request

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to gather, manipulate, visualize and present data clearly and compellingly

  • Ability to engage and consult with a variety of internal stakeholders

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills

  • Extremely detail- and accuracy-oriented

  • Team-oriented, self-starter able to work autonomously across cross-functional teams

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DHS EOD suitability

  • Candidates with active clearance will be given preference

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
